Today I listened to this life changing podcast — see below — https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-happiness-lab-with-dr-laurie-santos/id1474245040?i=1000517690775

I highly recommend it. I have held onto a lot of pain inside my heart and I have been looking for ways to relinquish it. When people talk about that forgiveness is about you and not the other person. I simply have never gotten that saying. But what I do get is holding onto the past of the hurt of other people affects you and not the other person. You are giving yourself and them a gift, when you forgive them.

Today, I release my past of pain from my family, my exes of partners/wife/therapist, bosses, and a spiritual church. I say I forgive you. You have my forgiveness. I no longer hold onto something that is no longer mine and I allow peace into my life.

I have been working on this for a while so don’t think all of sudden I came to this point. It has taken me awhile and for my therapist to chip away of my need to control my pain and keep my heart closed. But I now take a leap of faith, open my heart from the past and move forward. Will I feel like this everyday? Probably not. It takes practice. I will release the pain and forgive. The pain and hurt wasn’t serving me. It’s time to use my energy for other positive things in this world.

Thank you God for being patient with me and finally allowing me to see that releasing the past will allow my light to shine brighter. Thank you for letting me share.
